Building off of our last podcast, Kevin and Lee discuss the Biblical paradigm regarding alcohol consumption; May a Christian drink alcohol in moderation? Does the Bible prohibit any alcohol consumption apart from medicinal use? What about the different arguments people make to prohibit drinking in moderation?

E14: What Kind of Wine Did Jesus Make?
Thursday Aug 06, 2020
Thursday Aug 06, 2020
Jesus' first recorded miracle occurs in chapter 2 of John's Gospel, in which He turned water into wine. But... what kind of wine was it?
Was it what we know as wine today? Was it non-alcoholic? What does the Bible actually say about this miracle, and more importantly, does it matter?

E11: Marriage, Divorce, Remarriage Part 7: What Repentance Requires
Thursday Jul 09, 2020
Thursday Jul 09, 2020
***We STRONGLY recommend listening to these episodes in order, as each episode builds upon the context of the episodes that have come before it.***
In the previous 6 episodes, Kevin and Lee have discussed in detail what the Bible teaches about Marriage, Divorce, and Remarriage, and the historical, literary, and cultural context of those teachings. The divorce certificate, the Biblical grounds for divorce, Jesus' teachings, and Paul's teachings regarding the parameters under which divorce is justifiable and when divorce is sinful. In this episode, we discuss what repentance requires when one finds themselves divorced without cause or a justifiable Biblical reason. Does repentance require lifelong celibacy? Does repentance require subsequent divorce if one remarries after a Biblically "unlawful" divorce?
This episode deals with the practical application of everything we've discussed so far, and we hope it's a blessing to our listeners.
Next week we'll draw our study of Marriage, Divorce, and Remarriage to a close with our Q&A episode! We've received some excellent questions and look forward to discussing them.Send us your questions and comments to exploringfaithpursuinggrace@gmail.com. We'd love to hear from you! Thanks for listening!

In part 6 of our series on Marriage, Divorce, and Remarriage, we discuss Paul's Teaching on the subject.
Does Paul prohibit remarriage?
Does Paul demand lifelong celibacy after a divorce for no cause?
Do Jesus and Paul contradict each other?
These questions and more are addressed in this episode.

***We STRONGLY recommend listening to these episodes in order, as each episode builds upon the context of the episodes that have come before it.***
In part 5 of our series on Marriage, Divorce, and Remarriage, we continue our discussion on the teaching of Jesus, specifically regarding the 'innocent party' and the 'exception clause'. Who are the innocent? What does the exception clause entail?
This is a LONG episode, but our desire has always been to emphasize thoroughness and completeness over brevity.

What does it mean to Explore Faith?
Everyone has a belief system. We believe what we believe in large part because of what we've been taught by our parents, grandparents, pastors, and faith leaders.
But what happens when our inherited belief systems no longer serve us? What happens when our faith divides rather than unites, causes strife instead of peace, and brings angst and anxiety in place of freedom and joy?
Kevin Pendergrass and Lee Grant found themselves asking these questions and began the process of exploring their belief systems in search of something better than what had been handed down to them. In their exploration of their faith, they found a God that loves all, whose grace is far bigger than they could have ever imagined.
